SAP Quick Sizer : missing data ?

$

0

Hello,

I have a question about the SAP Quick Sizer tool.

I don’t find some SAP ECC documents like “purchase requisitions”, “Physical Inventory”…

Besides, I don’t find some SAP master data like “pricing MM”, “Vendor” or “source list”.

Can you please explain to me why this data is not in the SAP Quick Sizer tool please?

Where I have to fill this data to perform the sizing?

Thank you for your help.

Oracle Rac 11.2.0.3 doubts

$
0
0

Hi experts,

Current system info:

server 1 with Redhat 6.5 and Orale ASM with SAP ECC 6  GRID 11.2.0.3 standalone installation

Target system info:

Server 1 and server 2 running  RAC 11.2.0.3 with SAP ECC 6  and RedHat 6.5 GRID  with cluster

We are trying to convert our current system to oracle RAC but have some doubts.

We are following  "Configuration of SAP NetWeaver for Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.2 and Oracle Real Application Clusters 11g Release 2: A Best Practices Guide"  so:

On page 29 It says: "Prepare the storage location for storing the shared ORACLE_HOME directory in the cluster. The Oracle RDBMS software should be installed into an empty directory, accessible from all nodes in the cluster" Same thing for ORACLE_BASE for the RDBMS, SAP subdirectories (sapbackup, sapcheck, sapreorg, saptrace, oraarch etc.) and homedirectories for SAP users ora<SID> and <SID>adm to a shared filesystem.

1.-Can we just use NFS for sharing them? or what is the recommended software on REDHAT for doing it?

'cause on note 527843 it says:

You must store the following components in a shared file system (cluster, NFS, or ACFS) here it says we can, but down the note on section linux says:

RAC 11.2.0.3/4 (x86 & x86_64 only):

  • Oracle Clusterware 11.2.0.3/4 + ASM/ACFS 11.2.0.3/4 (Oracle Linux 5, Oracle Linux 6, RHEL 5, RHEL 6, SLES 10, SLES 11)

Oracle Clusterware 11.2.0.3/4 + NetApp NFS or

  • Oracle Clusterware 11.2.0.3/4 + EMC Celerra NFS

It does not mention just NFS.

2.-In our system test, we want to backup all oracle configuration files on file systems and then delete Oracle Grid to Install GRID with cluster option, then install RDBMS with rac option and then follow the guide, is that correct?

DB13 - BR1804E SAPPROF dir not supported if spfile is not used

Hi,

Trying to run DB13 checks, stats, etc, but we are running into the following error:

BR0801I BRCONNECT 7.20 (24)

BR0805I Start of BRCONNECT processing: cenvpbdb.chk 2014-05-13 13.49.01

ORA-12162: TNS:net service name is incorrectly specified

BR0310E Connect to database instance  failed

BRTOOLS version 7.20 patch 24.  We are ASM.  So we are using our spfile on ASM, which is why it's strange it's complaining about the SAPPROF.

We are able to run brtool db checks directly on the database.   Checked brtools permissions, oracle permissions (OPS$ORACLE) are ok, etc and everything looks fine.   the SAPPROF directory contains the brtools profile and empty oracle profile.  Reviewed SAP note 1598594 and we have this working on other systems, so we're not sure what the issue is.  Other than this, the system is up and running fine.  Any ideas?

SAP NW 7.40 installation with Oracle 11.2

Hi

I am installing SAP NW ABAP 7.4 with Oracle 11.2 on Linux SuSE.

The installation has passed the initial stages and right now stuck on 'Perform Oracle post-load activities' step (Phase 22 of 36).

Actually, I mistakenly chose the master password with '@' in it. Now brconnect is failing in this step with an error code 5 with the below logs:

""

BRCONNECT 7.40

BRCONNECT timestamp xx.xxx..xx

Changing password for database user SAPSR3 ...

Invalid character '@' in database password

Changing password for user SAPSR3 failed.

""

I have also tried changing the password for SAPSR3 user using BRTOOLS and successfully done that. I can connect to the database with the user SAPSR3 and the new password which I gave. But somehow when I retry on the SWPM screen, it again gives me the same error as mentioned above.

Has anyone seen this issue before? Can someone give some resolution for this urgently...

Hi All,

We use the NetBackup 7.5 for SAP backup.

Unfortunately, we constat the problem in the BD Oracle.

you can help me on NetBackup 7.5 and the SAP backup

Otherwise say the settings did :

1 Backup ONLINE in a policie NetBackup

2 OFFLINE BACKUP in a police NetBackup

3 Backup REDLOG in a police NetBackup

It launches ONLINE backup and at the end of this backup backup REDLOG sap is launched.

The problem is that the backup ran fine but the behavior of the base has changed.

We proceeded to recover a database to solve the problem.

I can't diagnose the problem, is that the problem is due to backup via NETBACKUP 7.5 ,

High % DB Time

$

Hi folks,

I'm seeing an increase in Dialog response times on a clients ECC system (Windows/Oracle)

Average % DB Time over a month was 60.57% (< 40% recommended)

DB Buffer quailty is consistantly between 98-99%

DD Cache Quality is 99%

No issues with with recursive calls vs user calls.

Hit ratios all good in ST02 (98%-100%)

And yet, still we see % DB time over 60%

I've identified a number of DB intensive jobs/reports but they're not regular and the high % DB Time is fairly consistant throughout the month.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
