Hello,

I´m with some doubts regarding an error that I´m facing right now. We need to setup a RMAN tool for we can do backup of our SAP system (with Oracle Database) but it show me the following error when I insert the user name PRDADM ( which is the <sid>adm).

I don´t know which user we need to use at this stage and which privileges it needs to work and make the backup action of this oracle database.

This is the error:

This user account does not have the privileges that are required to log on to the Oracle database.

How to interpret DBSIZE.XML for SAP on Oracle Migration

Hello all,

Can somebody tell me how to interpret the DBSIZE.XML created during export for SAP on Oracle migration.

As I see from the system copy guide:

To find out the size of the export and the sizes of the tablespaces or dbspaces that are created, look at the file DBSIZE.XML located in the directory

I upload the part of the DBSIZE.xml

DBSIZE part.jpg

The size unit is MB or GB?

Dear Experts,

I need to configure archive log backup using brarchive function so that , backup is taken from other local mount point other than /oracle/SID/oraarch.

I have configured init.sap profile so that it copies from /oracle/SID/oraarch to /backup mount point which is local mounted.

Now I need init*.sap so that brarchive will take backup from /backup to tape. We are using TSM for backups.

I have gone through many sap note and blogs but couldnt able to see any information nor supported document for the same. Please help

Dataguard Configuration for SAP on SUSE Linux

Hi Experts,

While preparing SAP ECC ABAP System on Standby Server,  is it mandatory to use virtual hostnames ?

Primary ECC system is running with a virtual hostname for both  SAP & Database.

In this scenario, how will I prepare the primary & standby tnsnames.ora for switch over operations, as it looks like,  both primary and standby will have the same virtual hostnames during normal operations.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Kiran Sathyan.

Dear Friends,

We are facing issue with our systems which is running on win2008 with oracle DB this is MSCS environment.

Automatically some resource moved to node2 from node1 and database went down, in fail safe cluster management i can see error as below.

Cluster resource 'SID.WORLD' (resource type '', DLL 'fsresodbs.dll') either crashed or deadlocked. The Resource Hosting Subsystem (RHS) process will now attempt to terminate, and the resource will be marked to run in a separate monitor.

And

The cluster resource host subsystem (RHS) stopped unexpectedly. An attempt will be made to restart it. This is usually due to a problem in a resource DLL. Please determine which resource DLL is causing the issue and report the problem to the resource vendor.

Kindly help us to solve this issue.

Thanks

SWPM RAC DB instance install error on srvctl add database -d

Hello,

We are currently installing a distributed NW 7.31 system with Oracle RAC on ASM.

SCS ran successfully ,and now we are trying to install db instance.

During phase 'Create database' the installation stops with error code 1.

The log is:

I don't know why the SWPM asks for the spfile if this is a fresh installation. The only file that exists is initISP.ora

Perhaps SWPM was supposed to create an spfile<SID>.ora from init<SID>.ora?

I hope someone out there has encountered this before

first I Upgraded the database from 10.2.0.2 to 10.2.0.5 with runinstaller

after that I would like to apply the SAP Bundle Patch.

These are the steps which I executed:

1. Update OPatch and MOPatch

2. create patchfolder patches

3. put the Bundle Patch in patches

4. /bin/sh $ORACLE_HOME/MOPatch/mopatch.sh -v -s SAP_112027_201208_LINX8664.zip

Now I get the following message :

Cannot determine OPatch version and feature support.

Version:

OPatch : 10.2.0.5.1

MOPatch :  2.1.14

What could be the reason?

error when execute a native database procedure

When I call an oracle procedure with native sql, I write like this:

      EXEC SQL.

        call sp_myproc(:para1,  :para2 );

      ENDEXEC.

but It can't work, the program raise a error: Error 6550 occurred in the current database connection "COST".

What's the correct form please?

Then I use a triger to do the work:

  TRY.

      EXEC SQL.

        BEGIN

        insert into ZLOG(ID,TYPE,NAME,PARAM, USR)

          VALUES( :G_DT, 'PROC' , :G_PROG , :G_PARAM , :G_USR );

        COMMIT;

        END;

      ENDEXEC.

    CATCH cx_sy_native_sql_error INTO exc_ref.

      error_text = exc_ref->get_text( ).

      MESSAGE error_text TYPE 'I'.

  ENDTRY.

It's all right now, but I found another problem: When my procedure catched a exception and processed the exception correctly, ABAP still catch a excption and refused to continue. but I can run it at PL/SQL command window correctly.

Who can tell me how to let it work please?
