Legacy database has a corrupt datafile.

Our legacy sap oracle 9.2 database has a corrupt datafile for tablespace psapbtabi. It's actually the last datafile added for the tablespace. This system is only used to run some reports and no transactional changes are being made to the data.

We have NO backups or archivelog backups to restore from.

The datafile is flagged to be recovered.

What do you suggest to get the database back to a running state?

Thanks in advance.

Table not assigned to DataClass

Hi all,

I found tables that not assigned dataclass in database of our ERP system.

When I saw DD09L table, many tables(they are not add-onn tables) have no datalclass data.

When I executed "Tr-cd:SE14" , I also found tables which have no dataclass data.

I think that normally, all tables in sap are assigned to some kind of dataclass.

Do you know whether this is a specification of sap?

Hi Guys ,

During the system copy IMPORT I have faced error (Ora-00959 sap tablesapce psapsr3620 doesn't exits ) but this tablespace exists in the source system.

Last time I have bypassed the error by changing the DDLORA.TPL and DDLORA_LRG.TPL  files with psapsr3620 to 700 and re - run the system copy it was successful

But this time I'm facing the same issue I tried as above method   it's not working . . any inputs ?

Is it recommended to test SAP functionalities after an Oracle Upgrade ?

$

Hello,

As we have to upgrade his SAP ECC from Oracle 10.2.0.2 to Oracle 11g in his productive system, a customer has built a strategy as if it was an SAP upgrade (locking of users/jobs/printings/.. AND test of all their functionalities after the upgrade before unlocking every thing).

It's the first time I'm asked to follow such a strategy for un Oracle Upgrade, and for me, it is not necessary at all.

Could someone give me a link where SAP could mention whatever about this topic ?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Gérard

Release Space at file system level

$

Hello All,

We did Online DB table reorg in the production system and it reduced 152GB at table level but not refelected in the os level. During this

activity we added 300GB to the tablespaces to perform the DB reorg and

increased the DB size from 3.4 TB to 4 TB

Our intention is to reduce the space at file system level.

Please confirm what steps we need to perform in order to release space

at filesystem level

1) By doing offline reorg at Tablespace level

2) By doing export/import database using system copy methods

3) By doing shrinking the database after completing online table rerog

(online/offline)

Hi,

I am trying to find the guide to configure Rman for Brbackup and Brarchive using SAP interface to TSM server. I followed the note 142635 (We are using AIX 6.1 and Oracle 11.3) to create the link to oracle library and command brbackup -u system/xxxx -c -d rman_prep -t online -m all works allright, but when I try to run an online backup using brbackup -u system/xxxx -c -d rman_util -t online -m full, it fails with an error

Hello,

We are currently installing a distributed NW 7.31 system with Oracle RAC on ASM.

SCS ran successfully ,and now we are trying to install db instance.

During phase 'Create database' the installation stops with error code 1.

The log is:

I don't know why the SWPM asks for the spfile if this is a fresh installation. The only file that exists is initISP.ora

Perhaps SWPM was supposed to create an spfile<SID>.ora from init<SID>.ora?

I hope someone out there has encountered this before

Backup and restore sap cluster server

$

Hello,

To fulfill auditor request and to test our backup tape, I want to restore the backup from tape to our isolated test environment.

Current live setup:

  • 2 production servers with database on cluster mode (server 1 running, server 2 standby)
  • using Disk2vhd to convert live production server 1 to vhd format (OS on C; DB on D; Heartbeat on E)   (D & E is on cluster)

Isolated test environment:

  • Load VHD from above backup to MS Hyper-V server.

==> server boot up all fine, I'm able to see all the drive include DB and Heartbeat.

Under SAP management console, I do not see the database therefore I can't login to SAP.

Would anyone please help me out on this issue.

Note, with above steps, The QAS server (no cluster) is running fine on our virtual test environment.
