Hi All,

I have a serious problem that our SAP system fails to connect to external web server after our SAP kernel patch upgrade. Does any of SAP kernel files control this external communications. We have job logs of the zprogrm that failed to connect external servers after kernel upgrade. We have NW 7.3 with Kernel 720_EXT . under Redhat Linux 6 machine.

I've followed standard SAP kernel upgrade procedure. Is there any was to find the root cause. Please advice.

Hi Friends,

I have notice archive logs are getting generated at multiple location for some of our server.

Naturally it should generate only in ORACLE\SID\ORAARCH which is happening but it is also getting generated at ORACLE\SID\SAPBACKUP location

This is happening only for few servers i compared initsid.sap file of other servers with this servers and evrything looks same.

kindly advice why suddenly these files are generating on multiple locations, we are having this issue on 10.2 and 11.2

Thanks

ORACLE offline reorg...

$

Hi,

I'm running Test system (will be prod.) - after client deletion there would be need of database reorg. Before deletion database size was a bit over 300GB - after deletion disk space shows the same number (also disk BRCPACE). However I need the additional space that would come from reorg (ex. need to delete some database files to return disk space). I have checked the manuals for Online reorg but i would like to do Offline reorg - Could someone please turn me to right direction how to?

(There seems to be many manuals/howto's/explanations about online but not for offline reorg). Also what would I need to expect?

DBACOCKPIT: connect of remote database (ORA-12638)

$

Hello Oracle-experts,

we are trying to integrate sap systems running with Oracle database centrally into Solution Manager (also running with Oracle database).

By doing so we get the error ORA-12638. We read that it should be possible to set SQLNET.AUTHENTIFICATION_SERVICES from NTS to NONE in order to avoid this error.

Unfortunately after this the ops$-user cannot be used.

Is there some workaround on the one hand to integrate sap systems running with Oracle database centrally into DBACOCKPIT into Solution manager and on the other hand still to use ops$-user?

Thank you!

How to recreate SAP* user master record in a client

$

Hi..

Due to some urgency, we have deleted SAP* from database(Oracle) using command-

delete from SAPPRD.USR02 where BNAME='SAP*' and MANDT='500';

Now after deleting SAP*, i need to login with password while parameter "login/no_automatic_user_sapstar=1" is set.

Because user master record does not exist for client 500, I am unable to login with user SAP*.

I also tried to recreate user SAP* using SU01 but it result to ABAP dump with message--

"The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records."

Dear All,

I would need some help regarding the initial username & password for Oracle 9.x installation (IDES).

On older versions of Oracle the user & password were something like scott & tiger but on this version I tried everything including system, sys etc with password manager , blank password etc. Also I have doubts regarding the need to fill the HOST string box (is this the system name, instance name or what is it?)

Thank you very much!

There is a OSS Note: 484638 but our oracle version is 11.2.0.3.0 so i don't think that the note is suitable for us. So i don't know what to do next. Please help me.

Thanks in Advance for any clarification.

7.40 changes the alias and the access of the column "CLIENT"

$

0

Hi all,

in the last days i faced the Problem that a join of two of our own tables ran longer in SAPM than in production.
All statistics and reorgs are made. Parameters are the same. But in SAPM i got a full-table-scan instead of index access via BNDTA_AGNR which is selectiv enough.

That is the join part of our program:

INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE e_tab_nko_npo

         FROM       /gkv/cd01_bn_npo AS a

         INNER JOIN /gkv/cd01_bn_nko AS b

         ON         a~bn_lfdnr     = b~bn_lfdnr

         FOR ALL ENTRIES IN i_tab_schaetz

         WHERE      b~obtyp        = i_tab_schaetz-obtyp AND

        b~bndta_agnr   = i_tab_schaetz-obgrf

and that is the part of the SQL-statement that ran slow:

FROM

       "/GKV/CD01_BN_NPO" "A" INNER JOIN

       "/GKV/CD01_BN_NKO" "B"

          ON "A"."MANDT"="B"."MANDT"  -- that's new

         AND "A"."BN_LFDNR"="B"."BN_LFDNR"

WHERE "A"."MANDT"=:A0

   AND "B"."OBTYP"=:A1

   AND "B"."BNDTA_AGNR"=:A2

And that the same part of the SQL-statement from production that ran fast

FROM

       "/GKV/CD01_BN_NPO" T_00 INNER JOIN

       "/GKV/CD01_BN_NKO" T_01

          ON T_01."MANDT"=:A0

         AND T_00."BN_LFDNR"=T_01."BN_LFDNR"

WHERE T_00."MANDT"=:A1

   AND T_01."OBTYP"=:A2

   AND T_01."BNDTA_AGNR"=:A3

The point is that production is on 7.31 but the newer SAP is on 7.40.

I search on "alias t_00" and found 2029981 - DBSL: Replacement of invalid aliases in Oracle
hints

Here we can read that the naming of the alias has changed.

And it seems that implementation of the access to CLIENT or MANDT has changed too.

Is there a chance to get back the old behaviour ?

best regards
Kay

Can I copy datafile from source to destionation?

e.g

R:\ORACLE\P11\SAPDATA1\SYSTEM_1\SYSTEM.DATA1 to

S:\ORACLE\QI1\SAPDATA1\SYSTEM_1\SYSTEM.DATA1

Same way all datafiles and logfiles as source to destination.

Does it works after creating control file from PRD system? Still now I had restore using brtools only.

Please suggest me does it work? and also send me System refresh Pre and Post activity.

Question about Oracle ASM

Dear experts,

for performance test reasons, I would like to a make homogeneous system copy of an SAP system,

to another system, where the Oracle DB will be residing in an ASM disk group...

The source system is backed up using BRBACKUP with the usual procedure with alter ... begin backup

and then copying the data files to the backup destination. Kindly advise how to do that and if it is possible

to restore a classical BRBACKUP to an ASM storage ?

Many thanks!
