I have restored online backup and resetlogs to open the DB..everything went well however when I try to schedule offline backup I am getting below error. could you please let me know whet needs to be done? thanks in advance!!!

Hi everyone,

I am currently exploring SAP Oracle RAC for HA and am wondering if its possible to install multiple SAP Oracle databases into the same RAC cluster?

For example if we had ERP, BW, CRM, SCM ..etc.., is it possible/recommended/supported to migrate their various stand-alone Oracle databases into the same RAC cluster, or should they be migrated into their own RAC clusters?  eg a separate RAC for ERP, RAC for BW, RAC for CRM ..etc.. ??

Pros/cons/challenges ...

We are running SAP/Oracle on AIX (Power) so I have no concerns regarding vertical scalability at this stage.

Dear Experts,

I had a problem with archive redo log size. I saw the size between archive redo log and online redo log is different.

The online redo log on path /oracle/SID/origlogA/log_g17m1.dbf , the size is 280MB, but on archive log the size just 130MB.

Why the size different? How to change the archive redo log?

We are running with Oracle 11.2.0.4.

Please aid me to solve this issue.

We have setup an DiasterRecovery System of the BI Production System .

os: aix 6.1

Database: Oracle 11.2

BUT , Our DR System is in Physical Standby mode.

Generally, we see the ABAP Patch version in SAP GUI ( System -- System status).

Likewise, Is there any SQL Command available to check the version ABAP Patches (

SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABAP, PI_Cont add on, PI_BASIS AND BW Patch - SAP_BW)

I followed note 1639578 when setting SSFS. I would like to install EHP7 and SSFS connection is prerequisite.

Everything went according to steps, but after I set environment variable rsdb_ssfs_connect=1 and profile parameter rsdb/ssfs_connect = 1 my system refused to start. All disp+work processes are down few seconds after I restart the system.

it looks like ssfs is not used, but parameters are set according to guide. Also database is accessable trough sqlplus, there is no problem to connect and select data.

I'm planning to upgrade existing oracle 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4 on windows 2012, Kindly help on the procedure I have read the upgrade guide .

But need confirmation before starting the upgrade .

1) Took backup of the current oracle home backup & Oracle inventory

2)changed the Oracle_home and TNS_ADMIN env pramaeter

3) Install the new oracle software i.e. 11.2.0.4 ( select install database software only or upgrade existing database )

4) From new home we need to execute the dbua

5) Perform post activities.

Hi Experts,

In our MDG system, we tried to do Oracle Bundle patch upgrade but we were facing issues so we reverted to original (replaced folder 112_64)

and the system was up and is running properly. But post this the issue is that when we hit stopsap on OS level , the DB doesn't shutdown , only the application stops. We have to separately shut down the database in sqlplus . Similarly for starting up the system.

Also due to this issue the backup script is failing as the DB is unable to shutdown.

Pls help.

I found this:

which seemed to be doing the trick, but it relies on /etc/oratab, but in our environment this file

is not in use, i.e.

/var/opt/oracle/oratab - this file has comments only and does not contain any real entries

/oracle/<SID>/11203/install/oratab - this file has 0 size

Hi ,

while performing the release upgrade  oracle 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4, as per the pre-requisite mentioned in the upgrade guide .

Change the registry entry of ORA_<DBSID>_AUTOSTART by entering the

command:<new_Oracle_Home>\bin\oradim -edit –sid <dbsid> –startmode manual give me error below

Dear Experts,

we have scheduled SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT job via RZ70 in our ECC system.Most of the time it runs successfully but everyday

once it get hanged.

i checked SLD system also and everything is fine there. I have checked RFC   SLD_UC and SLD_NUC and both working fine.

what might be the issue kindly suggest.kindly find dev_wx file below
