Hi experts,

since a few days we have a big performance impact by sql-statements on tabel RESB.

e.g. we have select-statements, which did take around 10 minutes and now over 3 hours.

We have already checked indizes and table consistent. Also table checks in DB02.

If I make the same sql on our testing system it is still fast, so only in the productive sytem we are facing this problem.

The table size in both systems is similar.

At the moment selecting around 1000 rows in PROD systems takes more than 10 minutes.

In Q System it takes just a few minutes for more than 100 000.

Can someone help to analyze the problem?

I have a question regarding the installation number in SLICENSE, basically, we have a license installed on or ECC system with which was created by a different company. Now we want to install a license using our own license file generated from the Service Market Place using our installation number.

What I want to know is can we just install new Standard license and it will replace the old one and change the installation number to our company's one?

We have One central instance and other Application instance in our ECC system ,We tried to collect the data through OS06N in Central Instance and Application Instance but OS06N is not working in Application Instance, but it is working in Central Instance. We had checked SAPOSCOL in both the systems, it is working for both the system.

After checking RZ20 -->SAP CCMS Monitor Templates --> Operating System --> <instance>-->"Views --> Status data collector"

We got the below screen.

Please suggest us as we are unable to get why we got this screen.

I have this strange issue where i get connected to idle instance whenever i type asmcmd from oracle user.

oracle user is part of the asmadmin group.

ORACLE_SID is the same as we get fro instance_name from v$instance.

Do we still have to set some parameters in order to launch asmcmd?

I have this error when try add the oracle database resource to the fail safe group,

FS-10890 Oracle Services for MCS failed

FS-10784 the oracle database resource failed

FS-10013 failed to bring the cluster resource online

FS-10006 unable to open resource

ox138F the cluster resource could not be found

Execute this steps but reproduce the error FS*

1.      Copy the sqlnet.ora file from the directory N:\oracle\SID\11203\network\admin on the first cluster node to the same directory on the additional cluster nodes.

2.      Start the Oracle Fail Safe Manager as follows:

Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 (R2):

StartàProgramsàOracle - <Fail_Safe_Home_Name>àOracle Fail Safe Manager.

3.      If the Welcome dialog box appears, choose Verify Cluster. Otherwise, right-click the cluster and choose Verify Cluster.

All cluster nodes must be up and running for this step.

The window Verifying Cluster shows the steps that are executed to verify the cluster. When you are informed that the operation has completed successfully, close the window.

4.      Add the SAP database to the cluster group ORASID.           

a)      In the tree on the left, choose Nodesà<First MSCS Node>àStandalone Resources.

b)      Select the database SID.world

c)      Choose ResourcesàAdd to Group.

5.      In the dialog box Add Resource to Group – Resource:

For Resource Type, select Oracle Database.

For Group name, select ORASID.

6.      Choose Next.

7.      In the dialog box Add Resource to Group – Database Identity: enter the following information:

SID.world

Instance Name

SID

Database Name

SID

Parameter File

When you have made all entries, choose Next.

4.      In the dialog box Confirm Add database to Group, choose Yes.

The Adding resource SID.world to group window, shows the steps that are executed to add the database to the cluster group.

5.      Copy tnsnames.ora from %ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin to \\<sapglobalhost>\sapmnt\SID\SYS\profile\oracle.

Last week we had a preventive maintenance shutdown at our data center. After that activity when we tried to bring back our servers we started facing some issue in our Sandbox system which is running on Linux & Oracle.

We couldn't start the oracle server , we tried through sqlplus,

I have checked initSID.sap file. I think all parameters are OK. Also check permission of all br* files; its also OK.

We are doing system copy as backup restore, restore is completed 100% and when i am running @Control.sql i am getting below error.

Some background info

this is online Backup belongs to quality system which i am restoring on test server

when i took backup fo quality using brtools backup completed successfully 100% and i can see all the datafile on my backup location (local drive) except

G:\oracle\SID\sapdata3\SR3701.DATA1 like this there are 14 datafiles which were not backed up or i cannot find that in my backup folder

But backup completed successfully 100% then why these files are not copied??

i can see other files M:\oracle\FNQ\sapdata3\SR3701X.DATA1 but cannot find G:\oracle\SID\sapdata3\SR3701.DATA1.

Kindly help me to solve this issue.

Hi all,

We are struggling with a huge table reorg (more than 1.5 TB). We manage to reorg the table after several hours but the reorg failed when Brspace tried to rebuild one of the secondary index. Due to this, all the reorg was rolled back and we lost our maintentance window.

My question is if would be possible to run an online reorg for just the table and the primary index. After that we can rebuild the secondary indexes and just rerun the rebuild again in case of failure.

One option is to drop the indexes before and recreate after the reorg, but I'm looking for a more elegant solution.
