Dear All,

Operating System: AIX

Dtabase used:  Oracle

we are using  one Solman Server ONLY. In this Solman Server , we have two database used namely IDS and SMI.

  • SID used for Solution Manager is SMI .
  • SID used for IDOC is IDS.

Both the above SIDs ( SMI & IDS ) are installed in a single Solman Server.

/usr/sap/smi & /usr/sap/SMD

Currently we are doing fresh Solman installation 7.1  in SOLMAN Server ( thatis;   Inst. SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SR1 AIX - Oracle).

/oracle is the oracle base directory used for SMI and IDS . The below are the Files used in /oracle.

NOTE:  Before doing Solman installation, the SID used for Solman is SMD. Now we planned to change SID of Solman dfrom SMD to SMI.

Now , Solman installation stopped in phase "database server Software".

SMI --We are currently planning to install Oracle 11.2.0.3 version ( earlier it was in 10g version).

IDS-- oracle version for IDS instance is 10g .

when i do the oracle installation ( version 11.2.0.3) for SMI (solution manager ) with the Oracle base as /oracle,   Will the central Oracle base directory gets afftected or  overwritted . If affected or overwritted , what are all the directories in /oracle will be overwritted .

Will the below directories in /oracle will get affected
