Hi Experts,

     I would like to inquire if it is safe to extend tablespaces using Oracle BRTOOLS while SAP Instance is running?

     One of our tablespace going to reach its limit soon (98.84%) and I can't afford to shutdown the SAP Instance.

     OS: WS2012R2 Std

     DB: Oracle 12c

The last section is repeated continuously and the file trace grows quickly until the disk is full.

Iu2019ve tried to change the kernel version and to reduce the number of work processes, but the problem continues.

There aren't dumps.

I can't find a solution in SAP notes.

Any idea?

Hi All,

I am using R3trans script before refresh to export and later I am running the import script. But I observed Data which is existing get overwrite and other get appended. It is not deleting old tale records.

As I am doing this in refresh I need to do cleanup again for target system data.Also for RFC it is still showing RFC s of source system . Can anyone guide me how to write R3trans script so that while importing it will delete data from table and then It will import exported file.

I am giving sample Script which i used for this refresh.

MIGMON starts only after several hours

Hello guys,

i have a strange Problem.

I did the ABAP import via migmon (import monitor) several times without any problems. But now i have a strange behavour.

We have an Oracle ExaData with OEL 6.6 and i need to import a dump, where the exchange directory has no files in it.

So i configured our migmon like this:

importDirs=/sapmnt/Export_WB1_Neu/NB1/export/ABAP

installDir=/app/bin/sap/tmp/EB1_Import_20160517/sapinst_instdir/NW740SR2/ORA/COPY/SYSTEM/DISTRIBUTED/AS-ABAP/DB

orderBy=size

ddlFile=

ddlMap=

monitorTimeout=30

r3loadExe=

tskFiles=yes

extFiles=no

dbCodepage=4103

loadArgs=-nolog -c 10000000 -loadprocedure fast

jobNum=20

exchangeDir=

localhost=

port=

trace=all

mailServer=

mailFrom=

After i started the migmon he logged following output in the import_monitor.log:

And you see that between step com.sap.inst.migmon.imp.ImportStandardTask preCreate and the really starting import, he has a delay of nearly 4 hours where nothing happend for my point of view.

We had this behavior with 2 hours, 4 hours and also 5 hours delay.

Another export, which has also the exchange files, started immediate.

So what is the failure here?

Hi Gurus,

Once completing oracle 12c binary installation , while i am trying to start listener in windows server 2008 , it is throwing me tns 12560 error.

Even while trying to add listener using netca utility , it shows Already listener is in use

Scenario ,

In Windows host already there is a oracle installed for MDG server , now trying to install another oracle 12c for BODS server while creating listener for this server it says listener port already in use , even we tried to give all other ports still no luck.

Really appreciate your inputs to create listener.

Dialog Work Processes status "running" & action "Commit"

Hello,

We are running SAP R/3 4.7 with kernel 6.40 (patch 344) with Oracle 10.2.04 on Windows 2003.

Actually we are facing a strange performance problem.

We are finding situations where multiple dialog work processes are in status "running" & action "Commit" for several days.

Another side effect of the problem was that we are not able to cancel these processes from SM50 or SM04. We have to cancel them at OS level.

We haven't found any notes describing this issue.

Please provide us your help.

Thank you very much.

SAP ASCS/ERS on Oracle Clusterware HA - controlling the stop?

$

Hi - We have our SAP ASCS and ERS processes running under Oracle Clusterware HA.  When we use sapctl to stop the HA processes, they stop but only for a minute or so, then they start up again on different RAC server nodes. Example of a stop command:

      /usr/sap/sapctl/bin/sapctl stop all -sapsid <SID>

We only use sapctl to stop/start the HA processes.

We already changed the start profiles to use START (not RESTART).  Does anyone know of another reason why Clusterware would try to keep the processes running even after we issued sapctl to stop?

Change the license of a existing system for new customer

We have SAP ECC6 system for testing. it has been registered system in our system data. Some departments were dividen to estibulish a new company. They also become new customer of SAP and got their contract. We want move this system for them and plan to use after proper configuration and data purge. This can save the effort to re-install the whole new system.

Can I just use the license key they request from SAP marketplace in transaction SLICENSE to make this system as theirs? Are there any other procedures should I take to change the license?

Any advise and suggestion is appreciated. Thanks.

DBACOCKPIT Connection for SAP systems with SAP Router

$

Hello!

We are trying to integrate all the remote SAP systems and their databases (primarily Oracle) into DBACOCKPIT of SAP Solution Manager 7.1.

Our SAP Solution Manager is running on Windows with Oracle 11.2.0.2

The most SAP systems (Unix and Windows) can only be reached from SAP Solution Manger over the SAP Router connection.

It means no direct ping from Solution Manager server to the Server of managed system will work.

Question

Is it possible to integrate such SAP systems (with SAP Router) into DBACOCKPIT of Solution Manager?

According to sap note 1265134 only the DBCON-connection will be required.

By doing so (tcode SOLMAN_SETUP), we get TNS errors.

Do we miss some additional steps (adapting tnsnames.ora of SOLMAN with the entry of managed system), etc.?

Thank you!

Oracle RAC environment hosting multiple SAP components

$

Hi All,

We have a 3 node Oracle 12 RAC cluster supporting our ECC environment on physical servers that are being under utilised.

We'ld like to look into the possibility of using the same RAC cluster to host an additional SAP component database. Meaning a total of 6 databases over 3 nodes.

The only notes and blogs I can find seem to discuss MCOD (ie multiple schemas within one database), multi tenancy (not yet supported by SAP) or traditional RAC.

I know it's technically possible to do but would like to know if anyone out there is using this method and what SAP notes they relied on.

We'ld like to eventually use this for PRODUCTION environments to cut the amount of 'tin' we use.

Appreciate any feedback

regards

Hi everyone,

I am currently stuck on something and I would realy appreciate some help.

In distributed system I want to be able to use db13. I have CI adn DI on one host, and on second host I have Oracle database installed. OS iz Windows server 2012R2 on all hosts. On database host, i installed SAP Standalone Gateway, using SWPM. Now I have to configure Gateway, but I am not sure which way to go.

I installed gateway with SID: GTW.

SID of my SAP system iz QAI.

Should I run gateway with qaidm user or with gtwadm user?

What aditional files should I copy in E:\usr\sap\GTW\SYS\exe\nuc\NTAMD64? I already copied dbatools and sapxpg.

Do I need to setup some aditional environment variables?

I searched sap notes and I found some manual, but manual is for HA scenario, and it ist very confusing.

in sm59 in SAPXPG_DBDEST_<dbhost>

setings are as follows:
