We are working on upgrade of a 2 node Oracle RAC database from version 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4
Unfortunately, during SBP - one of the nodes went into an inconsistent state and is waiting to be recovered.
A question occured during this time. Is it possible to complete the upgrade successfully on just a single node leaving the other node down ?
Is it ok If we complete the upgrade on the problematic node at a later point of time ?

Actually backups on my production servers are performed using brbackup without rman.
I want to implement rman with a repository used by others oracle databases.
I would like to know if SAP supports database backups without DB13 and br*tools ?

Dear Colleagues.
We have been facing an issue with our installation.
Trying to install SAP netweaver 7.31 java stack for our sourcing sytem and SRM project. (you need to have sapnetweaver 7.31 in order to install sourcing).
After installing oracle into a shared oracle home server we got the message "oracle software not yet installed.
SOLUTION install the the oracle database software using RUNINSTALLER."
We have folowed some of the blogs but not positive result .

Our serveur is SPARC SOLARIS 64 BIT.
Oracle installed 12 c ORACLE client 12102
The methode used is distributed system SCS and PAS will be installed in the same server and Oracle in an other.
We have tried the standard method but did not work either so we thought by using the distributed method it will allow us to move forward into the installation.
Unfortunately same message

i am facing a problem. i had one server on EHP6 with oracle and using solution manager i made mopz then i used sum to upgrade this server to ehp7 oracle version is 11.
after upgrade everything works fine until i restart services. if i restart service all services show started but in MMC it doesnt show database icon and application server doesnt start.
i tried R3trans -d and it gave error 0012
then i check logs it shows ora 1034 and 0ra 27101 error
if i logon to sqlplus it starts databse but still it doesnt start application server
can someone please help me with this issue?

I am using the latest version of SWPM (Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 SP 09) , where i want to use MCOD on my existing oracle database 12.1 .
I found this note 2175161 - SWPM Oracle/Unix 12.1 MCOD Installation Drops Already Installed Database Without Warnings , which states that my original database will be dropped and i have to restore it. So if anyone has tried the above method , or if any solution from SAP regarding this.

I have been running into permission issues when running brbackup via the DB13. The specific problem is the directory which is being chosen when trying to create the backup ".anr" file. When using the DB13 calendar the directory is /oracle/<sid>/11203/sapbackup, which in this case does not exist. The correct directory should be /oracle/<sid>/sapbackup. When I run brbackup at the database server level the directory is correct and the backup runs successfully without issue. The directory paths in the init<SID>.sap file are all pointing to the correct directories. It seems that when using the DB13 calendar it is choosing a different init<sid>.sap file. I am assuming that the init<SID>.sap file is where you would define the directories that brtools uses. I am not completely sure about that.

While dealing with space issues on the BW side of things, we realised that Database Monitoring was not correctly configured, so we worked through the Service Market Place Note 1002840 - No data or obsolete data in DB Space Statistic Monitor.
However, the output from DBACOCKPIT / DB02 -> Space -> Additional functions -> Collector logs -> "Modules" tab shows most monitors as INACTIVE even though they are turned on in DB02_COLL_PLAN
For example,
A) the output from DBACOCKPIT / DB02 -> Space -> Additional functions -> Collector logs -> "Modules" tab shows the DB* monitors as INACTIVE.

B) When I look in transaction SE16 table DB02_COLL_PLAN,
SMON_NAME = DB*
these monitors show as ACTIVE - See DB02_COLL_PLAN_DB.txt
C) When I look in transaction SE16 table DB02_COLL_LOG
COLL_DATE = 09/27/2015
SMON_NAME = DB*
I see that they are running regularly, with either a return code of blank (presumably 00) or 02. See DB02_COLL_LOG_DB-0927.txt
For reference, according to Note 1002840,the return codes mean:
00 Successful execution
01 Successful execution: no data collected
02 Successful execution: dataset was already up-to-date
10 Database connection not possible
20 Monitor deactivated: Oracle release < 9
30 Submonitor deactivated: source submonitor was inactive
31 Submonitor deactivated: data upload exceeded fixed limit
32 Submonitor deactivated: runtime exceeded fixed limit
In short, the monitors are running, but I can't work out why they are showing up as inactive in DBACOCKPIT / DB02. I suspect that the code behind the DBACOCKPIT / DB02 -> Space -> Additional functions -> Collector logs -> "Modules" tab is incorrect, however I haven't found any fix for this in the Service Market Place. Does anyone have any ideas ?
Hi Experts,
I am restoring the arch files to our DR server using brtools and it cannot find the ARCH1234.0001then i checked out alert_prd it seems that the brtools is looking for the ARCH1234.001not for ARCH1234.0001.I have checked the log_archive_format='ARC%s_%R.%T' in INIT<SID>.ORA and there's nothing wrong with this parameter.
How can I fix it?

When I run GRAPHICS_IGS_ADMIN program via SE38 ,Its gives successful graphical output ,But after some time , Its give
IGS error :ProcessRequest (RFC_EXTERNAL_FAILURE),
But when I Stop and Start SAP Instance ,Its give again successful graphic output. But after some time same error
IGS is updated and its service is proper running.

I have one doubt, If I use SAP DBA Planning calendar for online consistent backup with backup copy CMD CPIO then it sets table space in backup mode before starting backup, Does oracle DBWR process writes data if table space is in backup mode to particular Table space?

I am getting error for Missing tables (DB tables) & indexes (DB tables without unique index) in db02 - ORA_COCKPIT_HELPER. My system's database
is in Oracle 11.2.0.2 release.
I tried executing SQL command as mentioned in SAP note:1374746 - DBA Cockpit: Temporary table ORA_COCKPIT_HELPER. But i am getting error
while executing the command, ORA-00903: invalid table name and Error in parsing SQL statement: NO_OPERATION_FOUND
I could not able to create/copy a table with the name ORA_COCKPIT_HELPER, that it is not active in the dictionary.

I am doing Homogenous system copy on AIX with oracle 11g.
In the phase of oracle db software installtion .
I have installed the the same what mentioned going to stage.../SAP directory.
There are 2 folders are created 11203 and 112_64.
After doing this If I continue still getting the same error message.
It seems oracle db software not installed .. but in folders /oracle/<SID>11203 all the files are created.
Kindly suggest is any thing need to do further.

1. SSFS KeyFile is missing in
global\security\rsecssfs\key folder
As per the note 1639578 points 6 is for Unix users and nothing for windows.
2. SQL> drop table OPS$<sidadm>.sapuser;

Due to this, some dumps are popup.

in the alert_SID.log file it shows --> Hex dump of (file 23, block 302146) in trace file /oracle/DEV/saptrace/usertrace/dev_ora_14807.trc
When checking thru SQL> SELECT * FROM V$DATABASE_BLOCK_CORRUPTION; , it shows as NO ROWS SELECTED
Is it possible to check from brtools and to recover those corrupted blocks from brtools -> check and verify -> verification of database blocks?
