Dear Experts,

I have got the very nice task to export a few tables from a database. It worked quite OK,

till I have attempted to dump the BSEG table !! It is a cluster table and listed only in

SE16, but on DB level it's a ghost - nothing in dba_tables, nothing in dba_objects...

BR*Tools have no idea about it either...

I have been googling a LOT, but the only stuff I found is what a cluster table is, how to

create one and how to proceed with expdp in an oracle RAC environment

Please kindly advise on that! Many thanks in advance!

I reinstalled by system copy my SAP ECC PRD system from MSCS W2k3 Oracle 11.2.0.3 to  MSCS Windows 2008 R2 Oracle 11.2.0.4

After the upgrade, I set the datafile to AUTOEXTEND OFF with the command;

ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE 'Z:\ORACLE\PRO\SAPDATA2\SR3_1\SR3.DATA1'  AUTOEXTEND OFF;

ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE 'Z:\ORACLE\PRO\SAPDATA2\SR3_2\SR3.DATA2'  AUTOEXTEND OFF;

ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE 'Z:\ORACLE\PRO\SAPDATA2\SR3_3\SR3.DATA3'  AUTOEXTEND OFF;

ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE 'Z:\ORACLE\PRO\SAPDATA2\SR3_4\SR3.DATA4'  AUTOEXTEND OFF;

.

.

.

Now, I monitor my tablespace by RZ20 -> SAP CCMS Technical Operations Templates -> Space Management->Free Space in DB->Tablespace->PSAPSR3->Free space

Double click on it and I see:

As you see, Free (KB) in the 4th and in the last columns aren't equal.
And Total (KB) is different from Max. (KB)

But they have to be equal because after set the datafile to autoextend OFF

Infact in the other systems TST and development the values of the columns are equal

Obviously, from DBACOCKPIT I see the QAUTOEXTEND are OFF

In the attachment you can see :

We migrated from Win2k3 Enterprise Ed. 64 bit Oracle 11.2.0.3 to Win2k8 R2 Enterprise Ed. 64 bit Oracle 11.2.0.4 our MSCS Production system ECC 6.0

We have problem with split mirror backup.

We start backup from the backup host but backup works intermittently

A time work.

Next time not work with the error:

We use brtools 7.20 (41) and I tried with 7.20 (42) the last one available and we have the same problem.

If I execute local (not split mirror disk) brbackup it works.

In the old system we never had the same problem.

We are preparing a SD rebate agreement report where we need to fetch data from condition tables like KONP, KONV, KONH.

Firstly we need key fields (KNUMH, KOPOS) from KONP by providing Agreement no (KNUMA). Its taking a absurd time to fetch the data, sometimes showing time out error.

When we normally accessing the table via se16 or se11 or se16n, its also taking long time to run.

I have collected the trace also( attaching herewithin).

Kindly help us in how to reduce the time to fetch data from the tables.

Following action I had taken,

Upgraded brtools , now brtools is at version  BRBACKUP 7.20 (42)

Oracle release Release 11.2.0.4.0

Searched all the messages in community, can anyone had faced similar issue before.

We have dataguard transport lag from primary to standby.

We had archive backup error in primary yesterday due to which we increased space and take 1-2 manual archive backups.

Dataguard has errors from then.

we are getting below error when full online + redo log backup is fired PRD system.

We tried with change ownership of  "backSID.log" file which is under file system /oracle/SID/sapbackup". With ORASID:DBA  

And

Go under /usr/sap/SID/SYS/run/exe and run

sqlplus /nolog @sapdba_role.sql SR3 <- -- For ABAP sceham

Still same issue   Kindly help to resolve this issue.

Here is the scenario:

1. Recently upgraded to SAP ECC 6.0 EHP7 from EHP4

2. Running on Kernel 7.42 Patch 200 on Application Server

3. Separate Application and Database servers

4. Both servers are on Linux Red Hat 6.4

5. Oracle 11.2.0.3

6. BR Tools 7.40 patch 16 (latest version)

7.  Connecting to the database server using SSH (see lines

If I run BRCONNECT directly on the database server works.

If I run BRCONNECT via DB13 on the Application, server, it works but I get a messaget that BRCONNECT couldn't load libsapcrypto.so.

It seems that the environment variables are not getting picked up or transfer or set on the database server but BRCONNECT runs anyways.

I have looked at OSS Notes 2127746, 1848999, 510007, 2125088, 1965519, 1926471 and 2198198.  While they all have some sort applicablity, I haven't been able to resolve my issue even though I am running the latest version of the BRTOOLs.  I think is related to me connecting via SSH but I can't seem to resolve the issue.

I think is is a problem with the ops$ User but I did not find a note special for the ORA-01033 error that gives a solution to the ops$ problem.

2) During Target System Installation before importing data, we need to install oracle software

     - Do I need to install Oracle Cluster Software before installing Oracle Software ?

     - Do I need to install Oracle Software as Single Instance or Oracle RAC software need to be installed

3) As Oracle Cluster Software is already installed, its regarding PowerHA Clustering

     - Do I need to take care of even database in PowerHA configuration ?

I am working on setting up a brtools connectivity between Linux Application server and Oracle RAC node .

I was following  a lot of notes and guides how to setup brtools , but its till does not work for me .

Some of the notes I used are below .

My current problem is :

I am able to run from application server  brconnect using "@TRS":

brconnect -u SYSTEM/r3dt1g00@TRS -f stats -t all -f collect -p 4

But when I run it without "@TRS" which is a TNS name for the DB it does not work and fails with the following error :

I tried different variation of environment variables like :

But its still does not work .

My question is why brtools do not see TNS variables of the user and where I can set them up  ?

Also , I will appreciate if somebody can share a detailed guide or experience for the similar setup ?

Dear Experts,

I would kindly like to ask you, if anyone has already gathered experience with the new RMAN cross

platform restore feature of Oracle 12c ?

We will need to make a hardware move from Solaris x86_64 to Solaris SPARC. During my research,

I found Note 1848918 - SAP System Copy on Oracle Solaris with Oracle Database

which is even more confusing, as it says:

"The Backup/Restore procedure also available for a homogeneous system copy can not be used due to different endianness of the mentioned platforms."

This is perfectly true, as Solaris x86_64 is little endian and SPARC is big endian.

Furthermore, the note says exactly the opposite:

"With Oracle Database 12c SAP permits the use of Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) for Cross platform backup/restore as mentioned in SAP note 105047"

I have also checked Note 105047, but that note couldn't be more general in the explanation !!

Furthermore, I would kindly like to ask, if anyone knows some documentation or procedure on how

to perform such a cross-platform restore using RMAN ? I didn't find anything, I only found guidance

on the approach, if using RMAN directly:

Transporting Data Across Platforms

But anyway, I wasn't able to find a word about doing this with BRBACKUP / BRRESTORE...

Dear Experts,

I have been solving so many times a full oraarch situation. But what happened today is a little strange.

During the DB backup, there were 70 archive log files (which is not that much). The backup finished at

2:44. Then oraarch got full and the DB got stuck.

Around 8:40 I have started BRARCHIVE manually, which solved the problem.

The strange here is, that BRARCHIVE has been running at 3:44, 4:44, etc. and failing to archive ANY

logs with the following error message:

ORA-00257: archiver error. Connect internal only, until freed.

BR0310W Connect to database instance <SID> failed

There are no records in DB14 of these runs, but I think that when the DB is stuck, the corresponding

tables couldn't be updated.

My question: Why the automatic BRARCHIVE runs were failing and when I manually started exactly

the same command, it worked ???
