$

Dear Experts,

I have performed ABAP+JAVA system copy R3load based from Oracle to Oracle and MSSQL to MSSQL platform.

Homogeneous system copy many times.

But this is first time i am perfoming an Export from MSSQL source system with r3load Export method .....My Target system is havign Oracle 10.2.0.2 software installed along with installation prerequisites.

But while Importing the same MSSQL Export ...I am not getting any option for heterogeneous system copy.

I am running on ECC6.0 windows platform and i also have generated Migartion KEY.

But where should i put this key.

I have gone through system copy guide many times but unable to understand Exact options to follow to Migrate to Oracle target system. Appreciate if anyone can give me detail steps i need to carry on Target system

Best Regards,

Huge Archive Log Generation and Slow Data Archive

$

Hi Team,

We are Archiving data from our CRM Production Server and during first

few days archiving was smooth and archive log generation at DB level

was also normal, but suddenly from Saturday(08-Feb-2014) process of

slow.

Summary is:

1. Marking file for archival is noraml.

2. Copying data to files is also normal.

3. Deleting Data from DB is taking 6 time more time than normal and

archive log generation during this period for deleting 2500 records is

2.5 GB.

We are looking into this issue using log file and have

found "Checkpoint not complete" which doesnt happen during normal times

but during archival it showing and the solution is to increase log file

size at DB level.

Please let us know, on why system is generating huge archive log and

slow archival during while using TX SARA.

RK

Brtools for Resizing Redo logs

$
0

Hi All,

We wanted to incresase the size of Redo log size in our oracle DB using BRTOOLS utility. As this is a windows server on Cluster we cannot bring DB to mount mode very easily as we need to move DB out of cluster to do such activities.

We decided to use Brtools for the same.

The process which we are planning is:

1. Complete Backup of system.

2. Bring Db to No archive Mode

3. Execute Command - brspace -f moredo -a resize -f all_rf -s 200

Will above command safe for PRD landscape and will increase size of all redo log file available in different drives?

4. Bring DB to Archivelog mode.

5. DB backup again.

Is the process enough for increasing the size of redo log or need to do any other activity.

Need your advice.

Thanks,

Rableen

Long running apply archive log

$

0

Dear Experts,

I had a problem when applying archive log through SQLPLUS by command "recover database using backup control file until cancel".

Usually 1 archive log just need 10s, now 1 archive log need 3 minutes. It's pretty long.

Before applying archive log, I found warning message on alertSID.log when I executed startup mount:

WARNING: -------------------------------

WARNING: oradism not set up correctly.

Dynamic ISM can not be locked. Please

setup oradism, or unset sga_max_size.

[diagnostic 0, 8, 303]

Here is the parameter on spfile and initSID.ora:

sga_max_size : 30GB

pga_aggregate_target: 6GB

db_cache_size Size: 27GB

I tried to reduce the parameters became:

sga_max_size : 4.3GB

pga_aggregate_target: 3GB

db_cache_size Size: 2GB

And the performance for apply archive log back to normal which is 10s per archive log.

Just curious here, why the parameters must be reduced before applying archive log?

Whether the OS reject the parameters? I found on the internet, this is a solaris bug like memory locking, is it true?

Thank You

Edy

ERS, CI and DB Cluster riddle

$
0
0

Hi Experts,

Can ERS be installed outside /usr/sap?

I am having a typical CI DB cluster scenario (Veritas).

One Virtual Host for Central Instance with the /usr/sap and /sapmnt attached to it.

One Virtual DB host with /Oracle attached to it.

The above two is arrange on a two node cluster using two physical machine as well as one storage box. So that at any condition of any physical node down I always get the above two virtual hosts (cluster nodes) with the required directory attached in it. At normal condition Virtual Host for CI is on physical host P1 and Virtual Host DB is on physical host P2

I do not have any third machine, and in this context I would like to establish ERS. I have no issue to put ERS20 on Virtual Host CI, as the /usr/sap/<SID>/ERS/ERS20 can be there without any issue. But the ERS21 if I need to put on the Virtual Node of DB, then the  directory /usr/sap/<SID>/ERS/ERS21 can be overwritten if the P1 goes down and Virtual CI shifts to N2. This is Vice Versa if P2 goes down and Virtual DB shifts to N1.

In this situation, I am looking for an option where I can control the installation of ERS22 and change the installation directory something other than /usr/sap or /sapmnt or /oracle. Is it possible? Then how?

Regards,

Soumen.

Oracle Reorganization

$

Hi Gurus!!

My landscape is an SAP ERP 5.0 on Oracle 11.2.0.3 with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and database size is 1.2 TB. I´m following SAP note 646681 (Reorganization of tables with BRSPACE), Remark 14, to do a reorganization of a SAP Tablespace. This remark has following points:

1-Ensure that the tablespace to be reorganized is "self-contained".

2-Create the help tablespace <aux_tsp>.

3-Move tables (SDBAH,SDBAD,DBAML,DBATL,MLICHECK,TGORA,IGORA,TSORA,TAORA, IAORA,SVERS,DD02L,DD09L,DDNTT,DDART,DARTT

or SAPLIKEY) to the tablespace <aux_tsp> by online reorganization.

4-Export all tables from the <reorg_tsp> tablespace.

5-Delete <reorg_tsp> tablespace including data files.

6-Create a new <reorg_tsp> tablespace.

7-Import the exported tables into the recreated <reorg_tsp> tablespace.

8-Move tables, moved in point 3, into the new <reorg_tsp> tablespace.

9-Delete tablespace <aux_tsp> including data files.

All seems clear!! But, when I try to do point 6, BRTools show the following error:

BR1304E Checking SAP license failed at location BrLicCheck-110

BR0602E No valid SAP license found - please contact SAP

Could you help me?

P.D. I attached some log files.

Lob segment Reorganization failure

Dear Experts,

Our Production Database(Oracle 11.2.0.3) is growing at a high rate.

We need to reorganize the highly growing tables. For a testing purpose we started in our test system.

During reorganization of SOFFCONT1 table(corresponding lob segment is SYS_LOB...7$$) in database, we get the below error:

We had tried increasing the PSAP<sid> tablespace by 5 GB but still its showing the same error.

Currently it is having 23 GB free space

Please suggest how do we go about it...
