Dear ALL,

I want to create a role with SAP_ALL but only for display.

I was tried to create the role and download in txt format then replace all ACTVT * with ACTVT 03 and upload the txt file. Then assign this role to new user and tested but user can run create or change transactions.

Please suggest some solution, how to create in your system. We are using SAP ECC 6.0 and oracle 10.2 g.

We know that SAP AG have been working hard to improve the SyBase ASE Data Base. I would like to know if is there anyone here who has just changed from Oracle DB to Sybase ASE and what do you recomend: SAP ERP + Oracle or SAP ERP + Sybase AS

Actually i use SAP + Oracle. But i have been thinking of migrate to Sybase ASE.

Hi All,

I knew this question has been asked and answered but i still couldn't find the concrete solution. Any advise is mostly welcome.

I've installed Distributed Database on Solaris and CI on Solaris as well. Due to security reason and policies, our customer stop us from using RSH.

I've installed standalone gateway in Distributed Database with System Name EGW, system number 20. My SAP and DB name is AEP.

gwrd is started using egwadm. TCP_IP connection SAPXPG_DBDEST_DBHOSTNAME works fine, however when i kick off checkDB in DB13, i got the below error:

"> Function: BtcXpgPanicCan't exec external program (No such file or directory)"

Have i miss out something? Do i need to add any ENV to egwadm or edit the SAPXPG program?

fyi, br* and SAPXPG authorization are all set correctly in /sapmnt/AEP/exe. Env for AEPadm in CI is identical to AEPadm in DB server.

Please advise.

Hi Experts,.

I am doing an SAP NetWeaver 7.3 installation on a single-host standard install. My OS is Windows 2008 R2 SP1 and the DB is Oracle 11g R2 (11.2.0.3).

I am installing the ABAP+Java stack.

During the installation phase 29 of 50 Start Instance, I get the following error:

      An error occurred while processing option SAP Enhancement Package 1
      for SAP NetWeaver 7.3 > Oracle > SAP Systems > Process Integration >
      Standard System > Standard System( Last error reported by the step:
      Instance NTD/DVEBMGS00 reached state SHUTDOWN after having state
      STARTING. Giving up.).

After some research I came across a few solutions, none of which have worked for me thus far:

1) Add to the HOSTS file the IP address and domain of the computer (i did this)

2) Increase virtual memory size to 6GB (Mine is set at 20GB)

Looking at the logs in sapinst_dev.log I couldn't deduce anything new but I did come across this:

We are trying to run BRCONNECT 7.20 > PL18 from the Windows SAP server. We have added the 3 parameters with the values we believe to be correct but when we run the command it fails with the copy of the SPFILE to the PFILE. The SPFILE it is using is X:\oracle\SID\112\database\initSID.ora and not the ASM SPFILE (+DATA/RND/112...).

Is there something else we need to do to tell the BRCONNECT that this is an ASM/EXADATA database?

We would also like to confirm the values of the asm_ora_sid, asm_ora_home and asm_root_dir are correct. Could you provide the queries to extract this information from the EXADATA system?

Hi Every one,

i have this issue we need to centralize the oracle DB gather schema statistics scheduling for some architectural reasons we need to use a central node that has a brtools and oracle client software installed and run brconnect from this central node using some thing like this:

/usr/sap/XXX/SYS/exe/run/brconnect -u system/syspass1@SID1 -c -f stats -p 8 -m E -s P30 -t all -f collect

/usr/sap/XXX/SYS/exe/run/brconnect -u system/syspass2@SID2 -c -f stats -p 8 -m E -s P30 -t all -f collect

first i need to know if this is working solution

second if working what prerequisites

any guides documents how to's will be great help

Is it possible to copy the data from DEV on Exadata to QAS on Exadata?

I'd like to homogeneous system copy from SAP system on Exadata.

I've read system copy guide (provisioning manager) and could not found any restriction for Exadata...

But I don't know whether exporting data from Exadata is supported by SAP or not.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Dears,

I have this error during a Netweaver 740 upgrade, on Oracle 11.2.0.3, for a BI sistem.

"2WETP000 15:18:51: Retcode 1: error in DDL statement for "/BI0/ACCA_O0100 " - repeat 2EETP345 15:19:03: Retcode 1: SQL-error "1450-ORA-01450: maximum key length (6398) exceeded" in DDL 2EETP345 statement for "/BI0/ACCA_O0100 "

The error happen to three tables /BI0/* and I'm not able to find a solution.

According the Oracle documentation, If I understood well I should reduce the size of the key of these tables, but It seems strange to me the SUM it's doing this error trying to create these indexes so bigger.

I'm not able to find any Oss Notes for that.

Any advice ?

We have set the table FPLAYOUTT to unlimited. Following the solution in SAP Note 533455 - Terminations due to higher number of extents. We have brought down and restarted (in an act of desperation) the system to no avail. Even after the max extenst are set to unlimited, we still get the "max # extents (505) reached". This is a mystery and is holding up our upgrade.
